I am Jill Irving, a UK-qualified maths teacher living in the Algarve. I give international and collegiate school students patient, one-to-one maths tuition in English, from Key Stage maths through to IGCSE and GCSE, in person across the Algarve or online.

As a UK-qualified former Further Education maths lecturer, I teach the British and international curriculum your child follows at their international or collegiate school, entirely in English. We find the exact gaps, fill them patiently, and rebuild the confidence that makes maths feel manageable again.

Do you teach in English?
Yes. Every lesson is taught entirely in English, following the British or international curriculum your child studies at school. This suits expat and international school families who want maths support in their child's main language of learning.
Which schools and curriculum do you cover?
I work with students at international and collegiate schools across the Algarve, including Nobel International School Algarve and Bright International School, following the British and international curriculum. I cover maths up to IGCSE and GCSE level, including the Key Stage years that lead up to them. I do not currently teach A Level.
Are lessons in person or online?
Both. I offer face-to-face lessons in person across the Algarve, and online lessons from home, whichever works best for your family. Many families mix the two.
What ages and levels do you teach?
From Key Stage 1 right through to IGCSE and GCSE, including focused exam preparation. Whether your child needs to catch up, keep up or stretch ahead, I can help.
Where in the Algarve do you cover?
I teach in person across the Golden Triangle, including Almancil, Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo, Vilamoura, Quarteira, Loulé and Santa Bárbara de Nexe, as well as Faro, Albufeira, Lagoa, Carvoeiro, Ferragudo, Portimão, Alvor, Silves, Lagos and Praia da Luz. Anywhere else in the Algarve, lessons are online. Tell me where you are based and I will let you know what works.
